Bus search option for scooter users

Independent consumer research charity, Rica, has launched an online search function on its website to help people find out which mobility scooter can go on which local bus. A code of practice for mobility scooter users’ travel on buses has been developed by the CPT. Scooters are allowed on the bus if the operator is running a scooter permit scheme; the scooter is a Class 2 type and has maximum dimensions of 600mm wide and 1000mm long; a turning radius of no more than 1200mm and the bus company has assessed the user can safely use the scooter on the bus.
