Bromley bus garage open day

Bromley Bus Garage will be the site of the next of TfL’s bus garage open days. The depot will open its doors to the public on 13 August from 10.30 to 16.00. The day marks the centenary of the first journeys on bus route 109, which later became the 227 and still runs today through Beckenham and Bromley.  Visitors to the Stagecoach run facility will be able to experience a display of vintage buses, free rides on parts of routes 227 and 61 in historic buses, a variety of stalls for bus enthusiasts and displays by the police and local schools, as well as family activities organised by the London Transport Museum. The site’s address is 111 Hastings Rd, Bromley, BR2 8NH. Admission will be by purchase of a programme (£3), with all proceeds donated to the Guide Dogs charity. Other London bus garages which will open their doors this year are Twickenham Garage (Abellio London) on Saturday 17 September and Stockwell Garage (Go-Ahead London) on Saturday 15 October.
