Bakers nets Crewe contract

Bakers Coaches is to continue its longstanding relationship with League One football club, Crewe Alexandra, having sealed a two year deal to transport the team. The operator has brought in a new coach to run this service, a high specification 49-seat King Long, which has been refitted to meet the team’s specification for comfort and convenience. Seating capacity has been reduced to 33 and 24 of these are arranged in three ‘Pullman’ style groups with tables set either side of the central aisle. Each of the groups has access to one of six TV-DVD monitors as well as facilities to plug in personal computers. The coach also has a climate control system, a toilet and a washroom, as well as galley services with oven, microwave, refrigerators and hot and cold running water.

MD, Phil Baker, said, ‘Our relationship with the club is now into its 22nd year and we are delighted to be selected once again, to provide the team transport facilities. Sporting fixtures demand reliability and this is a key account for Bakers Coaches. In addition to the team coach, the company is also the preferred supplier for the supporters’ transport.’
