Brighouse based Arrow Coach Travel Ltd is helping support Calderdale flood victims. The operator is taking part in Calderdale Rising, a crowdfunding campaign aimed at helping a number of the 1,250 businesses across Calderdale that were heavily affected by the 2015 Boxing Day floods. The initiative is headed up by Business for Calderdale and supported by other business groups in the area, with over 70 participants in the scheme. Crowdfunding initiatives are different from traditional charity donations as they allow people to not only donate, but also buy rewards. The rewards will include products showcasing the businesses involved, ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, alongside a Hebden Supporters Card offering a 20% discount in a number of shops in the town, as well as various other perks. The money raised by the campaign will be shared between all the businesses taking part in the scheme.
Julie and Richard Jessop at Arrow Coach Travel, said in a statement, ‘The Boxing Day floods have massively impacted on our business as well as many others in the area. We received great support during the clean up operation but now we need funding to get back on our feet. We are pleased and thankful to be taking part in the Calderdale Rising Crowdfunding scheme and we hope that many people will get behind ourselves and our fellow businesses to help raise the funds we so desperately need.’
