Arriva goes to the MAX in north

Arriva North East has upgraded its half hourly X12 service between Middlesbrough, Stockton, Durham and Newcastle to its MAX branding. The MAX premium brand has also been introduced on the operator’s X1 buses which serve, Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Crook and Tow Law up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes. These five state of the art buses represent an investment of over £780,000. Buses on these routes feature free onboard Wi-Fi, high backed leather style seating and journey planning technology. Driving the fleet is a team of drivers with enhanced customer service training. Titan the robot, present at other MAX launches, was brought along to help promote the services.

Area MD for Arriva North East, Nick Knox, said, ‘The new MAX buses offer a great package of benefits for passengers. We believe they’ll be a huge hit with customers and we’re really looking forward to seeing them out on the road. We are constantly working towards improving the journey experience for our customers and we are confident that more people will see the benefits of bus travel and jump aboard.’
