Amber Coaches in liquidation

Essex operator, Amber Coaches Ltd, is to be placed into liquidation on 19 April 2017. The company ceased trading on 4 April 2017, following which all the staff were made redundant. The company served its customers across the county for over 20 years.

Darren Wilson of DKF Insolvency Ltd has been instructed by the Director of Amber Coaches Ltd to assist him in placing the company into creditors’ voluntary liquidation. Mr Wilson said the director, Mr Stephen Nelson, ‘had little choice than to place the failing company into liquidation following losses that the company had accumulated’.

Mr Nelson took ownership of Amber Coaches Ltd early in 2017 and it was only then that such losses had come to light and the company could no longer continue to trade. He said, ‘Amber Coaches Ltd wish to sincerely apologise to its long standing and loyal staff members, unfortunately there was no alternative. We further express regret that the decision to close will directly impact on members of the public and regular customers who relied on the services of Amber Coaches Ltd.’

A spokesperson for Essex County Council said: ‘We are aware of what is happening with Amber coaches and Essex County Council is continuing to work with local operators to ensure that the services they operated will continue to run.’
