£1.9m Cradley Heath Interchange opens

The new £1.9m Cradley Heath Interchange has opened in the West Midlands. It features a new waiting area, improved access to train services and four connected bus stands with digital timetable information. It has seen an additional two bus stands built on a newly constructed island, replacing the previous bus stop on Forge Lane. The six stands all feature automatic doors that open only when the bus has arrived. Built by Centro, the delivery arm of the West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority (ITA), the facility has been financed through the Government’s Better Bus Area Fund, a £10m project to improve public transport in Brierley Hill, Merry Hill and Cradley Heath. Funding has also been provided by the DfT, bus operators, Centro, Sandwell Council and Dudley Council.
